Stephen Gill belongs to the most interesting British artists of a younger generation working with photography. For many years he lived in Hackney, North/East London, a borrough which in its diversity of urban and cultural aspects became a source of artistic inspiration for him and his works ranging from a documentary to an experimental language. It’s the first publication on Stephen Gill presenting selected series extracts published on the occasion of the first larger German survey exhibition of the artist at Museum für Photographie in Braunschweig.
