More than almost anyone else in contemporary art, Marcel van Eeden gives the medium of drawing cinematic qualities. Based on old photographs, he transports us back to the time before his birth (1965), to a graphic cosmos reminiscent of early graphic novels or scenes from film noir. This publication accompanying the exhibition at Museum Morsbroich, Leverkusen focuses on 4 series dedicated to the city of Zurich, its architecture and history.
