About us

Edition Carte Blanche has been edited by Gerhard Theewen since 2017 with artist books developed especially for it. Artist's books by Mark Dion, Marcel Dzama, Marcel van Eeden, Michaela Melián, Nora Schattauer, Franz Erhard Walther, Chris Newman, Peter Zimmermann, Andreas Schulze, Thomas Ruff.... have appeared so far.

In the Edition Ex Libris, Gerhard Theewen has been publishing reprints of an important book for the invited artist since 2001. So far, 35 editions have appeared in this series. Among them are reprints by Louise Bourgeois, Günther Förg, Thomas Ruff, Thomas Struth, Thomas Demand, Mark Dion, Marcel Dzama, Axel Hütte, Albert Oehlen, Gregor Schneider, Johannes Wohnseifer, Berlinde De Bruyckere, Peter Doig, Luc Tuymans, Peter Buggenhout, Norbert Schwontkowski, .....

In addition, we continue to publish editions, exhibition catalogues and catalogues raisonnés and advise artists on planning a catalogue. Since 2015, the "2nd season" of Salon (magazine) has been published with picture essays by young, younger and well-known artists. The first 100 subscribers per calendar year receive a signed and numbered print as a gift. Prints have been provided by Mark Dion, Marcel van Eeden, Marcus Neufanger, Mischa Kuball, Michaela Melián, Nora Schattauer, Marcel Dzama, ...).

From the beginning, we have published some artists regularly.
