Thomas Nolden paints pictures of meadows with sheep; his green and grey tonality unites the moist air, the meadows and the sheepskin. The paintings, created on site in the meadows, capture the timidity and convergence of the sheep, whereby they avoid any undue humanization of the animals. The result is a lively image of nature, which emerges completely and utterly out of colours themselves. Gazing at these pictures delights and amuses.
