Whereas we generally associate photography with the notion that one can push the shutter button and thus exposes the film faster than a normal person can even think, Bonfert confronts this velocity with cognition and the will to concentrate. His “Photosynthesis” is the result of a precise evaluation – as well as of a concept, which leads to an image that can only exist as just such an image.
