“In the pictures, one sees books with curved covers, literally ‘hunched backs’. These are books that have not only been read, but used, abused and misused. Albert Coers used them for one of his book sculptures – they were once part of a virtual architecture of books…” (Wolfgang Ullrich). “Müde Bücher” (Tired Books) contains photographs of individual volumes used in the installation “I SOLITI TITOLI”, comprised of books from the estate of an architect, a cross-section of a library from the educated middle-class of the 1950s through the 1980s. The books has been published in conjunction with the exhibition “animlibri” (March/April 2012) in the Kunstverein Tiergarten in Berlin.
