Antonious Höckelmann Der Maler |
Antonius Höckelmann ist nicht zuletzt durch seine Documenta-Teilnahmen bekannt als Zeichner und Bildbauer. In den letzten Jahren entstanden Bilder in Acryl, Ölfarbe und Farbspray auf Leinwand. Diese "unter Ausschluß der Öffentlichkeit" entstandenen Gemälde wurden nun erstmalig im Stadtmuseum Ratingen gezeigt. Und genau wie bei den Zeichnungen und Plastiken kann man sich dem Sog der Höckelmann'schen Bildfindungen nicht entziehen: Pferde, Frauen und seine typischen Strudelformen ziehen den Betrachter in ihren Bann.
Not least because of his participation in the "documenta" art exhibition in Kassel, Antonius Höckelmann has become well-known as a draughtsman and sculptor. During the last few years, he has painted pictures in acrylic, oils and spray paint on canvas. These pictures, created "out of the public eye", have now been shown for the first time in the town museum of Ratingen. And just as with his drawings and sculptures, Höckelmann's painted motifs exercise an irresistible attraction: horses, women and his typical whirling forms captivate the viewer.
